LARRY GILLESPIE TRIBUTE TO CHET BAKER (USA)
-Larry Gillespie (trumpet and vocals) who played in Ray Charles‘ and Woody Herman’s big band, as well as with many international musicians, is back in Germany and plays his debut at Hamburg’s oldest Jazz club, The Cotton Club. His French trio plays the West Coast jazz of the 50s and 60s, of which Chet Baker and Art Pepper are among the most famous representatives, but also arrangements and compositions by Laurent Katz. A very melodic jazz that swings intensely.
